About Me

I am a 38 year old police oficer from Yemen, in the middle east. Immigrated to the U.S after a violent civil war tore my country apart. When I was 14, and living in Yemdn soldiers came to my house, took me away and forced me to join the army. Served three years and faught in Yemen's civil war. When finished army, I came to the U.S. Yemen took my childhood, but they WILL NOT take my adulthood. I have a wife and a daughter name Laila. Laila was born in the U.S. She has a much better childhood in the U.S. then she would of had in Yemen. In Yemen girls have very little freedom. In school if she missed a fiact on the multiplication chart she would of been hit on the head. Here she can go to school without fear. She hopes to go to a medical school in a few years. When I and my wife arrived to NYC I waited tables while putting myself through college. In Yemen as a boy i watched many cop shows. I decided long ago I wanted to be a "good guy". I joined the NYPD when I was 24. On September 11, 2001, I was stationed a ground zero. On that dzy I felt so much sadness. When my wife went to pick up our daughter Laila from school, another parent yelled from his car "Go back where you came from terrorist!" It was a difficult time for all us Arab-Americans
